Hey, I'm Gabe.

I'm a full-stack web developer based in Ilkley, and I've been building websites and web applications since 2015. What started as a love of making things that work on the internet has turned into a career building sites that genuinely help businesses grow.

I care about three things above almost everything else: design that makes people stop scrolling, performance that keeps them there, and code that's clean enough that search engines know exactly what they're looking at.

I'm most at home in WordPress — building custom themes and plugins from the ground up — but I'm equally comfortable in Symfony and Laravel when a project calls for something more bespoke. Every site I build is fast, search-optimised, and comes with a CMS so that whoever needs to edit the content can do it without touching a line of code.

Beyond the code

When I'm not at a screen I'm usually on a tennis court, out for a run, or off on some kind of adventure — travelling, hiking, or exploring the Yorkshire Dales.

I also read a lot, cook whenever I get the chance, and try to spend as much time outdoors as possible. I also captain a 6-a-side team called Gabe's Babes — we're a work in progress.
